Way back in 2001 i made a sound work that inverted the ethos of a classic movie to promote thoughts i share with John Cage that everyday sounds are music. When i made it In 2001, It was burned to CD and given to friends as I did not use the internet then. This week I decided it would be good to put it online for the first time so I have uploaded it to my Onderzoeken collection on archive.org.

I am happy to be visiting Australia for the second time. This time I am staying in Queensland to work as sound designer for the the danger ensemble's production The Sons of SIn.
Yesterday morning i awoke rather early and journeyed through Kondalilla national park to make some field recordings. It is a beautiful rainforest which is home to the magnificent Kondalilla Falls. This was my first experience of a large waterfall. The tumbling rushing water made a fantastic noise, I recorded it in four different spots as the sound changed depending where you were. This recording was made in fairly close proximity to it with a Zoom H4n.

This months mixtape feature's music nearly two hours of music i have enjoyed on my headphones walking mr namshub last month. And most prominently, five long tracks. Including the first drone music i ever heard when i was 16 (A song off tangerine dream's Zeit). A subtle sound tapestry made from field recordings of West Yorkshire Police HQ by Bristol's Seth Cooke. A plunderphonic masterpiece that cuts up and reworks old Greek horror movies by Athen's Jar Moff, who i just discovered (Thanks WFMU) . A 30 minute+ piece recorded in 1966 by electronic music pioneer, Pauline Oliveros. And a wacky (spliced tape experimentation... i think) work from a swiss artist i just discovered (thanks tara) called Anton Bruhin... off to Australia next month so i'll be dogless and 'Henry walks the dog' will become a metaphor..
I have moved my studio into a former police station! This is a great step towards a) having a space with a better workflow and b) being able to be very loud .. This picture above is of a recent recording session with Bristol experimenter Seth Cooke. I had a chance to edit a few sections from the recordings which i have uploaded to soundcloud and linked bellow.
